Let’s get down to measuring!

Today we are going to do two things: I’ll show you how to take a few important and unique measurements, and then we’ll work on fitting an underwire.

If you are making a wired bra, fitting a wire will be one of the most important things you do, since the wire has a huge impact on the fit of both the cup and the band. I’ll go into a little more detail about wire styles I mentioned in lesson two (materials and supplies).

In this class we are not going to use traditional bra size calculators nor will we measure ourselves as a “size”. One of the reasons for this is that there are no standards as to what measurements constitutes a given size. I want you to break free of bra sizing in your custom work and think about yourself as a unique you size!
